"I'm angry because someone parked their own car in front of the house they live in..."

As a photog myself I get where they are coming from, but this isn't Disneyland as some residents so eloquently put it.

His neighbors should all park their cars on the street in protest.

I think the car improves these photos. Frankly I'm surprised people don't deface it.

Marginally related story. Related in the sense that it's kinda the same thing, people bitching about something they really have little right over:

I had to move my horse to another, more expensive, stable last week. Why? Well, you see, the stables has been there since 1967. It's one of at least six in the area. Five years ago, someone decided it would be a good idea to build a subdivision across the street. They said the horses would add to the air of western lifestyle or something like that. People moved in and quickly realized that the stink of horse is, well, a stink.

So, they put up a fight. Bitched and moaned to the city for long enough that the city decided to amend the bylaws around horse property. "But these places are forty, fifty, sometimes sixty years old!" You may say. "Surely they're grandfathered in!" You'll add. Unfortunately not the case. Our stables, in order to comply with the new bylaws, had to move every outbuilding on their property inward by three feet. That was a good $20,000 in labor alone. Then another, non-grandfatherable, bylaw appeared this year surrounding changes to drainage. This one cost my stables a third of their property altogether. A third of their property, a portion of which was my horse's (and others') pen.

They're basically throwing horses out now. They can't afford to keep making these changes. Can't afford help with all the cash they've shelled out for these new amendments. Their customer base has dropped 40% in one month, and they'll probably be closing soon.

So, Mr. Maddox should be happy he isn't photobombing in the Us. They'd probably have seized his car, most of his assets, and placed him in a home by now.

Sounds very familiar. I have a friend with a bit of a car collection, 20 cars or so from the 50's 60's, a few very nice, but most in rough shape, however all run and drive. They are parked on a half acre next to his house that he has been in for 20 years. in 2013 new houses built in across the street, new people moved in, and immediately complain. Luckily the borough he lives in has a level head on their shoulders and agreed, he was there first, and the newbies to the neighborhood just need to suck it up.

We had a similar problem at a nonprofit organization I used to work at. We owned a camp out in the country that has been there since 1940 and has a shooting range on it. Well, starting in the '70s, houses starting being built near the property, with significant density by the '80s and '90s. The residents started complaining about the noise from the rifles and shotguns, even though the facility had been there decades before their houses and it was pretty obvious what it was and what went on there. We did move the range, at great expense, to a more remote part of the property where the geography helped block some of the sound, but they still kept complaining. The township took our side though, and basically told them that it only happens during the day during a very limited summer season and they can just deal with it.

Just ruddy tourists.

The guy lives there, they don’t. I’d just be telling them ‘hey I live here, if you want to pay my mortgage I’ll move the car, until then, deal with it’.
